Postnatal Clients
Growing with you: Our pre & post natal policy
At our studio, your safety and the well-being of your baby are our highest priorities. We want you to feel confident and supported as your body changes, which is why we’ve established these clear guidelines for our pre & post natal clients.
For all expectant clients
To help us provide the best care, we ask that you give the studio advance notice of your pregnancy by making a note on your booking regarding how far along you are. This allows our team to prepare for your arrival and ensure we have the right modifications ready for you.
Second trimester & beyond
As you reach the second trimester and your needs become more specific, we require a shift in how you practice with us:
Private sessions: While we work on developing dedicated prenatal group classes, we ask that clients in their second trimester and beyond book private sessions.
Tailored care: This ensures you get 1-on-1 time with a qualified instructor who can tailor every movement to your specific needs, ensuring the highest level of safety for both you and your little one.
Getting started: Please contact the studio directly to discuss our private rates. We will personally organise these sessions with a qualified instructor to ensure you receive the best possible experience.
Returning after birth | Postnatal clients
1. Medical clearance: Your recovery is just as important as your pregnancy. We require all postnatal clients to have their 6-week postnatal check-up (or 10–12 weeks following a C-section) and receive clearance from their GP or midwife before returning to group reformer classes.
2. Listen to Your Body: Postnatal recovery is not a race. We encourage you to focus on rebuilding your core and pelvic floor strength gradually. If you experience any discomfort, heaviness, or pain, please stop the exercise immediately and inform your instructor.
3. Specialised support: If you are managing specific concerns such as Diastasis Recti (abdominal separation) or pelvic floor dysfunction, we strongly recommend a private session before rejoining group classes to learn the necessary modifications for a safe return to fitness.
A note on instructor discretion & safety
Our instructors are here to guide you safely. If an instructor feels that a specific group class environment is not the safest fit for your current stage of pregnancy or postnatal recovery, or if they feel they cannot safely monitor your movements within a group setting, they have the right to decline participation in that session.
In these instances, the instructor will provide you with the studio manager’s contact details. We will then work with you directly to organise a private session that better suits your needs, ensuring you can continue your Pilates journey safely and effectively.
PLEASE NOTE: The studio is not responsible if a client fails to disclose pregnancy, complications, or relevant medical conditions.
Participation in prenatal or postnatal exercise carries inherent risks. By attending sessions, clients acknowledge they are participating voluntarily and accept responsibility for their own health and wellbeing.
Our commitment
Compliance with this policy is mandatory to ensure the safety of all clients and staff. We believe that by working together and maintaining open communication about your health and comfort, we can provide a positive and empowering experience for every mother-to-be in our studio.
